Blake 7 was a simply wonderful, dark British science fiction show which introduced the wonderful idea of miserable, depressing endings. It followed the adventures of Blake and his merry band of criminals in their attempt to overthrow the evil Federation. DC Comics Sandman is simply spectacular and you should go out and find it if you haven't already read it. The characters and stories are incredibly rich in detail.
