I thought this episode was excellent. The way Natalie put herself into the role of Sophi showed us how much Nick was at the center or her romantic thoughts. Her embarassment at being caught reading "The Denied" by Nick was priceless. The way Schanke enthuses about the advantages to vampirism and Nick's reactions were cute. I did object to the manner in which Emily was made to forget, since she thought it made another suicide her fault -- and Nick quickly gave up on disillusioning her. Couldn't he have dropped another hypnotic suggestion for her not to feel guilty?
The last scene between Nick and Natalie was very touching. He lets Natalie know that he read the book, too. His, "I just wish..." trailing off, and her turning to look wistfully at him before she left was so poignant -- nothing was said, yet so much was felt.

I loved this episode! Maybe because I'm a writer. But also because I love Forever Knight. Then again, how can you not love Forever Knight, especially Nick? The best part, that I think in this episode, was the end scene on top of the building. Andrew is holding Emily on top of the ledge, saying that he's going to bring her 'across' when Nick shows up. Andrew says, "Wha-what are you?!" "What you pretend to be," growls Nick through his fangs and his eyes aglow. ...yes! I think those were the best lines in this whole episode. Not to mention when LaCroix said ,"Lucky boy. Lucky girl." Maybe it was the way the 'r' rolled off his tongue. The only 'cheesy' part was when Nick started looking for clues in the water drain. You can clearly see the light colored paper where the red plastic 'eye' from the panther's head was before he even picked it up. Other than that, it was a great episode.
