With a feral snarl, he reared his head back and sunk his fangs deeply into my flesh.  I moaned loudly, the rapturous mixture of pleasure and pain like nothing else in the world.  I squeezed the small of his back simultaneously as his teeth pierced my throat, as if hanging on for dear life, even though I was willfully surrendering.  I gripped him steely, taking him into me, as he took from me; my lifeblood, my memories, my everything.  My hold only weakening as my mortal strength slipped away....................    An excerpt from "No Inbetweens," a Forever Knight fanfic in progress.  For more FK stories, check out FKfanfic.com



For as long as I could turn on a television or flip open a book, I have been fascinated by vampires. My journey into the undead realm started when I  was just a babe, tuning into my favorite show, Sesame Street.  Here, I was drawn to the dulcet tones of  The Count , by such phrases as, "One little bat, AAAAHAHHHA........"  Needless to say, I was bitten, er hooked.

The vampire is perhaps the most enduring supernatural creature of our time.  We are alternatingly repulsed and entranced by this being.  The vampire has everything we desire:  immortality, power, enhanced senses, eternal beauty and youth.  The vampire also posseses traits that we would do well to not have:  fear of the sun, a hunger for blood that goes beyond mere human cravings, yearnings to possess; to take another in to yourself and make them a part of you, completely.  The lust to kill...........the beast.........Urges and desires that we as humans cannot begin to comprehend, and say, "I  understand."   Or, at least that's what we tell ourselves.......

.Pull up a chair, relax with a glass of cabernet, or perhaps you would like another red substance to imbibe?  Read some dark literature, peruse some artwork, explore the links to the denizens of the night.  All is here in my lair.
